Chambers of Fear Haunted House
Presented by Graveyard Entertainment, this haunted house has two new attractions this year, the Hillbilly Nightmare and the Den of Darkness. If you’re feeling brave, one ticket gets you in to all three. Check the promotions and coupons tab on the website, where you can get more information about discount deals and special events. Buy tickets online or at the box office 30 minutes prior to event start time. The R.I.P. Fast Pass allows you to bypass the general admission line and get right down to being terrified.

Dark Scares Haunted Attraction
Get ready for a new level of terror as Dark Scares unveils the Dark Scares Hotel and the Black Mirror Casino, its new haunted attractions for 2012. Dark Scares will host a special sneak-peek weekend Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28 and 29, for only $5, cash only, and proceeds will benefit the Scares that Care charity.

Panic Park
This year will feature the Haunted Hollywood Back Lot Tour, Hellbilly Hideout and the Toxic Waste 4D Maze. Panic Park enlists a team of professionals with decades of Hollywood and Disney experience to put together terrifying attractions. If these are a little too scary for you or your little one, there’s still tons to do. You may prefer the Panic Park’s less frightening attractions, including the live stunt show “How to Train Your Zombie,” the pumpkin patch, zombie paintball, the Eye Scream Kids Zone maze, power jumps and more. General admission gets you access to kids areas, games, entertainment; All Access Pass includes all haunts and general admission; and the Super Pass has everything the All Access pass has, plus VIP parking and a fast pass. 13th Floor Haunted House & Zombieland Haunted House
Ever noticed how many buildings are missing the 13th floor? Now you’ll know why. Prepare to be scared with two epic haunted attractions for one price in 60,000 square feet of terrifying twists and turns. 13th Floor Haunted House and the new Zombieland were created by nationally recognized and award-winning haunted-house designers. You’ll feel like you get your money’s worth because it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get through both attractions. And it’s up to parents’ discretion, but attractions are not recommended for children younger than 12.

Doomtown
This year, Doomtown is the “Refuge of the Unwanted.” A Kreepy Kidz Zone will include arts and crafts, a mummy race, face painting and glow in the dark candy. For a little more scare factor, see the Legend of the Zombie Hunter stunt show, visit Dr. Von Schlock’s electric chair or witness a beheading on Main Street. Making its debut this year will be the Bride of Gary, the long-awaited sequel featuring Dr. Von Schlock and Stosh’s frightening creature, Gary, as they prepare for the arrival of his bride. Highest on the scare-o-meter are the Last Ride and Inner Demon. Kids can dress up and trick-or-treat Oct. 26-28 and 31.

Arizona’s Original Scream Park
Is one haunted house not enough? How about four? This attraction is ready to scare your socks off with four spooky haunts — Horror High, 3-D Fear Factory, Castle of Darkness and Goldminers Revenge. Take a breather between houses at the Monster Midway with snacks and treats or the Mon-Store booth with glow accessories and body jewelry. Get into the spooky Halloween spirit at the Psychic Corner, featuring palm and tarot-card reading. Not recommended for children younger than 12. Fright Nights
Golfland will evolve into a chilling site for Halloween thrill seekers featuring the Gauntlet Haunted House, a multilevel maze of ground-breaking special effects, animatronics and terrifying actors. Also available is Spooktacular Golf, Golfland’s 18-hole miniature golf course that has undergone a terrifying transformation. The Endless Fear & Fun package gets you unlimited minigolf, race cars, laser tag, bumper boats and haunted-house admission. Check the website for discounts and to purchase tickets in advance.

AZ Field of Screams
Brave a haunted cornfield maze planted over an old cemetery where the dead are now seeking revenge on anyone who trespasses on their grounds. It’s not a quiet walk through the cornfield — someone could be waiting for you around the corner. Pay half-price admission on opening night Friday, Oct. 5, and Halloween night.

Monsterland Haunted House
This haunted house is in the basement of a year-round monster-themed bar and grill. Their giant outdoor patio will feature live video footage of victims cringing as they weave through the maze of creatures and monsters. Children can dress in costume and enjoy “lights on” trick-or-treating 5-6 p.m. Saturdays. Fast Pass gets you to the front of the line. Call or see website for more information.

The NEST Haunted House
The Nest returns with all the special effects, technology and Hollywood sets that make it one of the best. Attractions include Bleak, a labyrinth of pure darkness, and Turmoil 3D, a haunted house with custom sound, video and illusions. Then there’s the Nest, a world class, 10,000-square-foot haunted house that features the freakish characters in the fictional story of reborn serial killer Jacob Kell. This year they make fear personal with the Nest utilizing radio technology in concert with social media to make the experience scarier than ever. Order VIP tickets, which take you to the front of the line, online and save $11.

Howl-o-Ween
The Phoenix Zoo will become home to such spooky Halloween creatures as zombies, witches and vampires. Creep through the Fields of Fear if you dare, or test your luck against the creepy clowns of the Monster Midway. Feeling really brave? Then you might want to try the Maze of the Mind. There will be a DJ and other haunted activities. This event is recommended for ages 8 and older.

Haunted House and Hayride
Take a ride through a haunted hayfield and then walk through the many rooms of the haunted house where you just might run into clowns, a mad scientist’s laboratory and jailed zombies. Younger visitors can enjoy a less-scary time from 6 to 7:30 p.m. This 11th annual event will also feature a pumpkin patch, caramel apples, treats, apple cider, psychic readings and Halloween merchandise for sale. Proceeds benefit Ahwatukee area youth programs.

Scare Fair
Kids age 6 and older can walk through a haunted-house maze and see a vampire, mummy and zombies. There will also be carnival games, and kids who complete them will get a bag of candy. Concessions will be available for sale.

The House on Camino Haunted Attraction
This Mesa home’s two-car garage will be transformed into a zombie western, where visitors will take a ghoulish trip through a haunted ghost town. The House on Camino has been spooking its neighbors since 2008. The event is free, but they will be accepting clothing, toys, and monetary donations to benefit the Child Crisis Center in Mesa.

Terror Nights
Put this Tempe home on your trick-or-treating route and get ready to meet Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis from “Halloween” and Jason from “Friday the 13th.” They dare you to make it through Zombie Alley, the Hanging Corpse Room or the Possessed Doll Room. And if you haven’t yet run out screaming, you’ll get to check out the Parlor Room of the Dead and a Haunted Graveyard. The attraction is free, but bring a non-perishable food item if you’re able to benefit Tempe Community Action Agency. Closed on Halloween.
