Is this a factor for buyers and does it affect the value of the neighborhood?
No doubt, homesites are tighter and everyone’s looking for some privacy. As our community is growing, our older plants and trees are maturing. Many have outgrown their intended space and are now infringing on neighbor’s properties. That tree than your landscaper planted 6’ from your neighbor’s wall or lot line or perhaps at the corner of your home is now out of control. Bushes are exceeding 8-10’ tall and due to the size monthly cost are increasing for maintenance. Of course, 55 plants and trees looked fine at plant stage, but now we have a jungle. Buyers in any demographic want low maintenance and water-friendly plants, and they often frown when we show them a home that’s not been properly maintained or simply overgrown. Artificial turf looks great and is now expected. If you’d like to see some amazing before and after photos of yard transformations, come see our team in the model gallery resale office.
