Today is the anniversary of Elvis Pressley’s birthday. He died at a young 42 years old and would have been 73 today. He remains an American icon and his recordings and movies continue to sell in many different formats. His story is a real rags to riches one, overcoming adversity, criticism and obstacle after obstacle to his success. Even in his most successful days, Elvis would retreat to his beloved Graceland in Memphis. It became his sanctuary and his escape from the pressures of stardom.
Our homes are no different from Graceland. While not as lavish or ostentatious as Graceland, for most of us, they remain our sanctuaries. A place of relaxation and decompression after the commute to and from our jobs and the day to day pressures of work. Our homes are not just a structure where we, as George Carlin says, put our “stuff.” They are truly places to enjoy, and live. They become a part of who we are yet our identities are not attached to them.
We understand this at My Arizona Home Team. We do look at homes as an investment but they are so much more than that. When selling a home, we leave memories behind in favor of moving to a place to make new ones. When buying, we are looking for certain characteristics that will increase our level of enjoyment. Most buyers and sellers need help with that process. You can trust the full time professionals on our team.
